 Chosen with and for Others

Sunday August 12

Pastor Greg Walton discusses how God chose to be in a relationship with you.

“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit." Ephesians 2:19-22

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nations, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9

"I am writing these things to you...so you will know how to live in the family of God. That family is the church." 1 Timothy 3:14-15 (NCV)

WE’RE CALLED TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2

"In Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." Romans 12:5

YOU ARE CALLED TO FORGIVE OTHERS

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:11-12

"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18

"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other." Galatians 5:13-15

"Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us." Luke 11:4

"Forgive us our sins in the same way that we forgive those who sin against us."

"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:14-15

"Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:13-14

HE CALLS YOU TO WALK THE WALK WITH OTHERS

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 (NASB)

"As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." Ephesians 4:1
