How Do You Keep Your Faith Alive? Focus on Jesus

Sunday February 17

Pastor Greg Walton tells how God's ways are not our ways.

60th Anniversary of the Florida-Georgia District: “Following in Faith”

“I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” John 3:3

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”   Joshua 1:8

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.”     John 10:27

“This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, ‘Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with Him.”       John 3:2

“How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”            John 3:4

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”     Psalm 46:10

Meditation Basics

·        Set Aside Time

·        Posture Is Important

·        Find A Quiet Place

“You are Israel ’s teacher, and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, We speak of what We know, and We testify to what We have seen, but still you people do not accept Our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the One who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,  that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.” John 3:10-15

 MEDITATION DOESN’T TAKE EDUCATION

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:16

 MEDITATION TAKES TRUST

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me.”      John 14:1

 MEDITATION LEADS TO REJOICING

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”       John 3:16

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”     Hebrews 12:2
